Saffron Cake

Ingredients for cake:

  • 3 eggs
  • 250g self-raising flour
  • 240g Greek yogurt
  • 200g sugar
  • 70g vegetable oil
  • 2 tablespoons Brewed saffron
  • ½ teaspoon Cardamom powder
  • ½ teaspoon Vanilla extract
  • ¼ teaspoon Baking powder

Ingredients for syrup:

  • 200g Sugar
  • 80g Rosewater
  • 2 tablespoons Brewed saffron
  • ¼ cardamom powder

 

How to bake:

First stage:  break the eggs into the bowl and stir for 4 minutes, then add sugar and vanilla extract to it and stir them until you have an elastic and soft texture.

Second stage: add yogurt and veg oil to the bowl and stir for 3 minutes until the ingredients are mixed well. Now, add brewed saffron and cardamom to the ingredients and stir them for 30 seconds.

Third stage: mix baking powder with flour and add gradually to the ingredients and mix them well.

Fourth stage:

Now turn on the oven to a temperature of 180 degrees Celsius and put the material to it and let it gets baked for 45 minutes.

Fifth stage: While baking the cake, we can prepare the syrup. pour sugar and water into a small saucepan. put on the stove with low heat until the sugar dissolves completely. After 5 minutes, add rose water, saffron to the syrup and cardamom, then remove the saucepan from the heat.

Sixth stage: After the cake is completely baked, take it out of the oven, then cut it as desired. wait until the cake cools down a little. Now pour the lukewarm syrup on the cake and let the syrup soak completely into the cake. decorate it with pistachio or coconut powder.
