Persian Tea Recipe: Almond Cookies

These almond cookies have a light, crispy texture and a rich, nutty flavor. Perfect for tea time or as a delightful homemade treat!

 

 Ingredients: 

 For the Cookies: 

- 2 cups all-purpose flour  

- ½ cup almond flour (ground almonds) 

- ½ cup sugar 

- ½ cup softened butter 

- 1 egg 

- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract 

- ½ teaspoon baking powder 

- ¼ teaspoon salt 

 

 For Topping: 

- ¼ cup sliced or chopped almonds 

- 2 tablespoons honey or simple syrup 

 

 Instructions: 

1️. Prepare the Dough: 

   - In a bowl, beat the softened butter and sugar until light and creamy. 

   - Add the egg and vanilla extract and mix well. 

   - In another bowl, sift together the flour, almond flour, baking powder, and salt. 

   - Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, stirring until well combined. 

   - Knead the dough gently until smooth, wrap it in plastic wrap, and refrigerate for 30 minutes. 

 

2️.  Shape & Bake the Cookies: 

   - Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking tray with parchment paper. 

   - Take small pieces of dough and shape them into round or oval cookies. 

   - Place sliced almonds on top and press slightly. 

   - Bake for 15-20 minutes or until golden brown. 

 

3️. Topping & Serving: 

   - Let the cookies cool completely. 

   - Warm the honey slightly and brush it over the cookies for a shiny finish. 

   - Serve with a cup of Persian tea and enjoy! 

 

 Tips: 

 Add a pinch of cardamom or cinnamon for extra aroma. 

Mix in one tablespoon of milk with the dough for a softer texture.
