Mango Ginger Iced Tea

Ingredients:

- 4 cups water

- 4 black tea bags

- 1 ripe mango, peeled and diced

- 1-inch piece of fresh ginger, peeled and thinly sliced

- 1/4 cup honey or agave syrup (adjust to taste)

- 1/4 cup freshly squeezed lime juice (about 2 limes)

- 4 cups cold water

- Ice cubes

- Lime slices (for garnish)

- Fresh mint leaves (optional, for garnish)

 

Instructions:

 

  1. Boil the Water:

   - In a medium saucepan, bring 4 cups of water to a boil.

 

  1. Steep the Tea:

   - Remove the saucepan from heat and add the black tea bags.

   - Let the tea bags steep in the hot water for about 5-7 minutes.

   - After steeping, remove the tea bags.

 

  1. Sweeten the Tea:

   - While the tea is still warm, add the honey or agave syrup.

   - Stir until the sweetener is completely dissolved.

 

  1. Add Mango and Ginger:

   - Add the diced mango and sliced ginger to the tea mixture.

   - Allow the mango and ginger to steep in the warm tea for about 10 minutes to infuse their flavors.

 

  1. Blend the Mango (Optional):

   - For a stronger mango flavor, blend a portion of the diced mango with a bit of the tea mixture until smooth, then mix it back into the tea.

 

  1. Add Lime Juice:

   - Stir in the freshly squeezed lime juice.

 

  1. Cool the Tea:

   - Add the 4 cups of cold water to the tea mixture to cool it down.

   - Allow the tea to reach room temperature, then transfer it to the refrigerator to chill for at least 1-2 hours.

 

  1. Serve the Iced Tea:

   - Fill glasses with ice cubes.

   - Pour the chilled mango ginger iced tea over the ice.

   - Garnish with lime slices and fresh mint leaves if desired.
